Congratulations Ms. McCarthy!

Ms. McCarthy started teaching with LAUSD in 1978 in the days when everyone went through Career Technical Education courses. She has been “stirring the pot” at Franklin since 1984, when hired to teach Foods and Clothing. Today her Home Economics classes are composed of students of all abilities and levels. She is always seeking promising students to encourage and spends hours of personal time preparing them to participate in culinary competitions. Ms. McCarthy’s personal rapport with students and staff is legendary.
